UPS says it has contingency plans, additional aircraft to support holiday shipping

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – UPS says that despite the grounding of its MD-11 fleet following the crash of UPS 2976 last month, it has contingency plans for holiday shipping to prevent delays.

The shipping giant says it has a global fleet of more than 500 owned and chartered aircraft and they say they will be able to keep moving packages through its holiday rush.

They also are using automation and AI-driven planning and upgrades to predict demand and disruptions for logistics…
