LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Louisville man drove past his residence Wednesday afternoon as police were conducting a drug raid, then took off, ramming two unmarked vehicles and injuring two Shively police detectives as he tried to get away.
It happened around 1 p.m. Dec. 17 in the 6700 block of Thalia Avenue in Louisville’s Southside neighborhood, according to court documents. Police were serving a search warrant at the home of suspected drug dealer Harold Bullard Jr. Investigators at the scene noticed Bullard driving a white 2017 Dodge Durango in the area. He continued driving north on Kenwood when he saw police in his yard, according to the arrest citation.
Detectives and K-9 officers tried to stop Bullard’s vehicle near Kenwood Drive and 3rd Street. Since Bullard has a known history of running from and resisting police, detectives attempted to box in his vehicle to keep him from fleeing. But Bullard “immediately rammed” an unmarked vehicle that had its emergency equipment activated. He then reversed and rammed the same vehicle again…
