Troubleshooters: Suspect in crime spree, police shooting was out on three forms of release

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – The man accused of a crime spree that led to a police shooting was out on probation, conditional release and ROR on three, separate felony cases during the events that unfolded Thursday night into Friday morning.

Winthrop Taylor, 36 of Louisville, is accused of a string of robberies and car thefts that began late Thursday night and ended in a police foot chase at an apartment complex.

Taylor allegedly stole multiple vehicles at gunpoint over the course of a few hours. One of those incidents led to a confrontation with LMPD police officers conducting an unrelated traffic stop on Bardstown Road, at which time Taylor opened fire on his alleged victim and the officers. One of the officers shot, as well. The victim was hurt, but it is unclear whose bullets hit him…
