LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – An Oldham County couple lost their home in a fire that started just before 1 a.m. on Christmas Day.
The house on Confederate Place Drive is now boarded up with burnt furniture lining the driveway. The homeowner, Mason Barnes, said he was working when the fire started, but his fiancée, their dog and two cats were home at the time.
Barnes’ fiancée called 911, reporting flames coming from a receptacle on the back of the house. According to Jerry Nauert, public information officer with Peewee Valley Fire Department, fire chief Matt York, who lives in the subdivision, spotted the flames while leaving his driveway and responded to the scene…
