Louisville man arrested after DUI crash into LMPD cruiser injures officers

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A 27-year-old man was arrested for wanton endangerment of a police officer after he hit an LMPD cruiser with officers inside.

According to an arrest citation, Apele Raphael was driving under the influence on Dec. 19 when he ran into the back of a marked LMPD car that had its emergency lights on. The cruiser was in the process of having another vehicle checked and towed when the collision happened.
