Metro councilwoman to challenge Greenberg in Louisville’s 2026 mayoral race

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Another candidate plans to enter the race for Louisville mayor in 2026, challenging incumbent Mayor Craig Greenberg.

On Wednesday, District 3 Metro Councilwoman Shameka Parrish-Wright told WHAS11 News that she plans to formally announce her candidacy for Louisville mayor on Saturday, Jan. 3 at a birthday brunch with family and community members.

“On my birthday, I’m choosing to serve Louisville in a bigger way,” Parrish-Wright said in a statement to WHAS11. “Responsibility comes first. Serving the people always. Louisville deserves experienced leadership that delivers real results.”…
