Accused kidnapper and bank robber from August claims he’s ‘been stabbed’ in Louisville jail

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Louisville man charged with kidnapping a mom and her two kids near the Oxmoor Center in August and taking them to rob a bank had a probation revocation hearing on Wednesday.

Armond Langford, 32, was released on shock probation in July 2024 after getting a 14-year prison sentence in February 2024. Shock probation is when a prisoner argues they were so “shocked” by a short time in prison that they will not reoffend, and are safe to be released into community supervision.

Judge Jessica Green certainly has the evidence to revoke the shock probation she gave Langford in summer 2024, as police investigators say he admitted to the crimes after being arrested in August, but she was not comfortable making the decision on Wednesday.

Green said she wanted to wait for Langford to get a new competency hearing in his new 2025 case before she decides on revoking his shock probation…
