Big Brothers Big Sisters seeks mentors as hundreds wait for matches

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana has more than 200 young people on the waitlist for its services. The nonprofit offers mentoring services to children, teenagers and young adults.

“It takes two people to form a mentoring relationship, whether it’s an individual and the young person or it’s a company and a school,” said Gary Friedman, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana.

He added, “It gives you an opportunity to make an impact on your community. Our young people — it’s cliché, but it’s true — are our future.”…
