After 56 years leading Louisville retail staple, owner of Steepleton announces retirement

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Jim Graven, the longtime owner of Steepleton in Louisville, will soon retire, leaving the 116-year-old business to his two children.

The company announced in a news release Thursday that Graven will step aside from one of the country’s oldest pool table retailers, a position he has held since 1970.

“Steepleton has always been more than a business; it’s been a family commitment to our customers and our community,” Graven said in a news release. “I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built over the years and confident that Gunnar and Allison will carry this legacy forward with the same care, vision, and respect for our history.”…
