Jefferson County man charged after reckless 20-minute pursuit on Dixie Highway

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — According to an arrest citation, a KSP trooper was patrolling Dixie Highway near the Gene Snyder Freeway in southwest Jefferson County around 11:30 p.m. when he saw Murphy driving a vehicle with an expired registration.

The trooper pulled Murphy over to check his license. When Murphy rolled his window down a few inches, the officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana. Murphy told the trooper “no” and then sped off, the Kentucky State Police said.

Murphy then led police on a 20-minute chase from the Gene Snyder in Jefferson County through Meade County while passing multiple other cars going over 120 mph…
