Man facing federal charges after $9k in counterfeit cash found during arrest, sheriff’s office says

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Authorities say a man who was arrested on an outstanding warrant earlier this week is now facing federal charges after deputies found a bundle of counterfeit cash on him while he was being booked into Louisville Metro Corrections.

Authorities with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office spoke about the arrest during a press conference Friday, Jan. 9.

The sheriff’s office says Hunter Byrnes had a stack of cash that was wrapped around three real $100 bills. They say that after they got past those, there were 84 fake $100 bills, along with 40 fake $20 bills…
