Former Jefferson County Youth Corrections Director takes plea deal

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – The former Jefferson County Youth Corrections Director, Toni Rice, took a plea deal in relation to a case surrounding a crash involving her government-issued vehicle.

The incident happened in the summer of 2024. Rice’s city-issued vehicle was found crashed underneath a Louisville overpass near the northbound lanes of I-71 at US-42. Rice told police it had been stolen.

In August of 2024, Rice resigned as director of Louisville’s Youth Transitional Services, which houses juveniles awaiting court appearances, amid the investigation.

Then, in September of 2024, Rice was charged with eight criminal counts, including criminal mischief, falsely reporting an incident, fabricating evidence and intimidating two witnesses who were summoned to testify about the incident…
