UofL Health makes history by using non-invasive technology to treat liver tumors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — UofL Health is the first hospital system in Kentucky to use a new technology to treat liver tumors.

The new technology, histotripsy, uses ultrasound waves to destroy liver tumors during a non-invasive, outpatient procedure. UofL Hospital is only one of 89 worldwide using this technology, the company said in a news release Thursday.
