Louisville vigils and protests planned over immigration enforcement deaths

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Congressman Morgan McGarvey is hosting a prayer service and vigil Friday night to remember people killed by Department of Homeland Security and ICE agents as protests against ICE increase in Louisville and across the country.

Aside from Congressman McGarvey’s vigil, Parkside Bikes in the Highlands is closing early Saturday to host a bike ride honoring Alex Pretti, an intensive care nurse who was shot multiple times as he filmed Border Patrol officers conducting an immigration enforcement operation in Minneapolis.

“I was already angry about everything that was going on with how ICE has been running amok, so to speak,” Jimmy Flaherty, owner of Parkside Bikes, said. “And then to have a fellow cyclist, activist, general member of the community murdered in broad daylight, it was pretty shocking.”…
