LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A few dozen customers near 22nd Street and Portland Avenue are without water while Louisville Water crews work to repair a break on a six-inch diameter water main.
A spokesperson for Louisville Water Company could not provide an estimate on how long the repairs will take.
The spokesperson did say that there have been an increase in breaks over the past week, as temperatures hover around freezing. They said the cold air temperatures makes it challenging, but when it comes to drinking water, it’s actually the water’s temperature that causes problems as the cold water in the warm ground can cause a break…
