LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Frigid temperatures across Kentucky have led to a sight rarely seen: the Ohio River at Louisville, almost completely frozen over. The ice has also surrounded one of Louisville’s most iconic attractions, the Belle of Louisville.
Standing on the port fantail, Belle of Louisville engineer Stephen Settlers measures the depth of the ice by breaking through it; three inches currently. From the Texas deck, Settles has a rare view of the Ohio River.
