JCPS Clothing Assistance Program coordinator faces elimination due to budget cuts

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A job within the Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) Clothing Assistance Program (CAP) is on the chopping block as part of the district’s newest budget cut proposal.

The proposal is to cut $142 million from the budget to address what is projected to be a $188 million shortfall in the 2026-27 budget.

JCPS released organizational charts earlier this week showing 178 new positions planned for next year. It also showed 213 occupied positions, and 74 open positions would be eliminated.
