Doing it all: Assumption’s Leah Johnson shines in the classroom, community

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — You’d be forgiven if you thought Leah Johnson had figured out a way to squeeze 25 hours in a day. That would appear to be the only way the senior at Assumption High School in Louisville could do everything she does.

She’s a star student with a 3.9 GPA with honors in math, science and English, managing editor of the school’s award-winning literary journal Rose Window, standout member of the speech and debate teams, a former varsity swimmer and has a part-time job.

On top of all that, she spends hundreds of hours volunteering for a variety of community organizations.
