Louisville’s oldest comedy club closing after nearly 40 years amid Mid City Mall redevelopment

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — After nearly 40 years, Louisville’s oldest comedy club will close next month.

The Funny Farm at the Mid City Mall in the Highlands, which opened in 1987 and eventually became The Caravan, will hold its final show March 21. The closing comes after development plans call for Mid City Mall to be demolished by the end of 2026 for a new development.

A spokesperson said the club is in search of another location.

Some of the comedians to perform there through the years include Steve Harvey, Howie Mandel, Sinbad, Heywood Banks, Brett Leake, Tim Wilson, Mitch Hedberg and Pauly Shore…
