We’re still reeling from the loss of John Carlos White last month.
Togetherness matters, so several of John’s friends and colleagues have organized a celebration of life (some, like me, might call it a “wake”) in honor of his memory, because what better way to remember John than by hanging out at a bar and shooting the breeze?
Here are the basic details.
- Date: Monday, March 16
- Time: 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Place: Downstairs at Vernon Lanes (“The Underground”), which is the huge event space under the bowling lanes. You’ll see the entrance to the rear of the building, on the parking lot side. It’s at 1575 Story Avenue in Louisville.
If you’re not familiar with the current incarnation of Vernon Lanes, there is plenty of high-quality food and drink. There will be a cash bar (and cash food menu) for John’s celebration of life — bring your favorite “John stories” to share with his family and friends…
