Staff member’s misplaced handgun prompts police, ATF search at Oldham County elementary school

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A staff member’s misplaced handgun prompted a search involving local police and federal agents Monday at Camden Station Elementary School in Oldham County, according to messages sent to parents.

In a message sent to families shortly after 10 a.m. Monday, Principal Dana Corson said a staff member reported they had briefly stored a personal handgun in a locked closet at the school but couldn’t confirm whether it had been taken home.
