Leave his country’: Man who beat victim with wooden plank near McDonald’s was apprehended with blood on his shoes, police said.

Julius Howard, 49, faces first-degree assault charges in Louisville, Kentucky, after allegedly beating a man with a wooden plank while telling him to “leave his country.”

Just before 2 a.m. on March 17, 2026, Louisville Metro Police responded to a fight report near the 400 block of East Market Street downtown. Officers found the victim on South Jackson Street with critical, life-threatening injuries and provided aid until medics transported him to a hospital.
