Gun found in student’s backpack by weapons detection system at Louisville high school

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A gun was stopped from entering a Louisville high school Thursday after the school’s weapons detection system flagged it in a student’s backpack.

In an email sent to Waggener High School parents Thursday afternoon, Principal Dr. Sarah Hitchings told families the school’s weapons detection system found a gun in a student’s backpack.
