Louisville Metro now requires local license for all massage parlors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Metro officials announced Wednesday that all massage facilities in Jefferson County must now obtain a local license, in an effort to address crimes, such as human trafficking and exploitation.

The requirement applies to any business offering therapeutic, relaxation, or other massage services. Certain providers—such as licensed medical professionals, state licensed health facilities, and recognized massage schools—are exempt under the ordinance.
