First released in 2025, the Bardstown Bourbon Company’s Distillery Reserve is returning this year with Cascadia Garryana Oak Barrel Finish. This limited-edition expression is named for its finish in barrels crafted from rare Oregon Garryana white oak.
It all starts with a blend of three bourbons aged between 9 and 10 years. Each features a different mash bill of corn, rye, and malted barley. After marrying the whiskeys, the blend is finished for 10 months in 10 custom-made Garryana oak barrels handmade by Oregon Barrel Works.
According to Bardstown, the result is a multi-layered 107.5-proof bourbon centered on flavors like toasted oak, toffee, vanilla, baked cherry, pipe tobacco, and butterscotch. The finish is medium in length with tannins and notes of wood sugar…
