Empty Walmart building brings trouble to Southwest Louisville, city leaders look for new tenants

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – City leaders are searching for a new tenant to fill the Walmart on Raggard Road in southwest Louisville, which has been vacant for nearly four years.

Padlocks, plywood and trespassing notices cover every entrance of the building along Greenbelt Highway. Tire marks on the parking lot pavement show activity at the site.

“We really needed it, so I don’t see why they closed,” said Regina Couch, who used to rely on that Walmart and now has to travel further away for her grocery shopping…
