9 people displaced, 2 dogs die as 2 homes catch fire in Southland Park

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Nine people are displaced and two dogs are dead after two homes caught fire in the Southland Park neighborhood Sunday night.

Louisville Fire crews were dispatched to the 300 block of West Southside Court just before midnight. Firefighters arrived to the scene within minutes and discovered two one-story houses with heavy fire.

All of the occupants, seven adults and two children, made it safely out of the houses before firefighters conducted primary and secondary searches. Two dogs were found in the primary fire building, and both died from the smoke and heat conditions…
