HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – A tax preparer from Jasper was sentenced to four years in federal prison after authorities say he orchestrated a multi-year tax fraud scheme that generated millions in fraudulent refunds.
Angel De La Rosa, 41, was also ordered to pay $15,005,149.83 in restitution for his role in the scheme. Yaimy Real, 34, of Louisville was also sentenced to three years in federal prison for the case and ordered to pay $15,019,543.84 in restitution.
Court documents say De La Rosa and Real operated a tax return preparation business “De La Rosa Multiservices” in Jasper and Louisville from January 2018 to July 2021.
