Student Worship Camp develops next generation worship leaders

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky Student Worship Camp returns to Louisville this summer, offering hands-on worship, technology and leadership training for middle and high schoolers June 29–July 3 at Boyce College.

“This camp is about more than learning songs or improving technique,” said Jason “Bubba” Stewart, Worship & Music Ministry consultant at the Kentucky Baptist Convention. “It’s about helping students understand what it means to lead people in worship and to use their gifts in a way that points others to Christ.”

Open to students who have completed grades 6–12, the five-day camp provides immersive instruction in vocals, instruments, production and worship leadership. Students choose from a wide range of electives, including guitar, drums, vocals, music theory, audio production and visual arts, along with leadership-focused sessions addressing calling, spiritual disciplines and serving in the local church

Stewart said some churches may want to bring entire student praise bands to participate in a “Youth Group Masterclass,” allowing teams to grow together…
