CBP seizes $9.2M in counterfeit jewelry at Louisville facility

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A shipment of counterfeit designer jewelry worth more than $9 million was stopped in Louisville earlier this month, authorities said.

The seizure happened April 3 at a local express consignment facility. Officers intercepted two shipments arriving from Hong Kong that were headed to a residence in New York.

The packages contained 1,588 items, including earrings, bracelets, necklaces, and rings. Each piece carried branding from high-end designers such as Cartier, Chanel, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Tiffany. Officers suspected the items were counterfeit and sent them for further review…
