Residents push back against proposed 199-unit apartment complex in St. Matthews

ST MATTHEWS, Ky. — Right across the railroad tracks at the intersection of Westport Road and Ridgeway Avenue, a 199-unit apartment complex has been proposed. This is right in the area of the former Plant Kingdom nursery.

Mayor Rick Tonini pointed to the plans for the property by the developer, LDG Development. The plan was laid out across a desk in his office. The plans included two 4-story buildings, two 2-story buildings, a pool, and a clubhouse. The complex is called Gilmans Point.

LDG said the units will be both one-bedroom and two-bedroom luxury apartments…
