Ceremony honors first responders from UPS plane crash

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Louisville officials hosted a ceremony to recognize work of first responders who helped victims of the crash of UPS Flight 2976.

Inside Fairdale Christian Church, first responders from fire, EMS and police, among others reunited to be thanked for their service on November 4, 2025. That’s when the UPS MD-11F jet that was Flight 2976 crashed just after takeoff. The crash killed 15 people – the three flight crew members and 12 others on the ground.

Louisville Metro Council members presented proclamations to those who assisted during the crash, including Anchorage-Middletown Fire Department, Blue Grass Airport Fire Department and Bullitt County EMS…
