Traffic signals will soon be upgraded at about 220 Louisville intersections; Temporary closures announced

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — There will be temporary closures at more than 200 intersections across Louisville starting next week.

Beginning Tuesday, May 12, crews will be upgrading traffic signal equipment at approximately 220 intersections across Downtown Louisville, Old Louisville, Smoketown, Shelby Park, and the University of Louisville Belknap Campus.

Each upgrade will require temporary closures for equipment installation. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) officials estimate each closure will take approximately five minutes…
