The highly-anticipated addition to Lubbock’s chicken restaurant scene is finally opening in less than two weeks, with two more locations set to open before the summer ends.
Layne’s Chicken, which signed a 44-unit deal with Lubbock’s C5 Restaurants group, has confirmed opening dates and a newly announced location. Here’s what to know.
What is Layne’s Chicken?
Layne’s Chicken, which opened in College Station in 1994, specializes in chicken tenders, with in-house sauces and shakes.
“The menu is simple, and the quality’s so high,” said Eli Cohen, managing partner at C5 Restaurants. “We hand-bread the chicken fingers in-house every day, and the Layne’s Sauce is a fan favorite. It’s a crowded space, but we believe this is a premium product, and it’s going to shine through.”
Where will Layne’s Chicken open in Lubbock?
Locations will be 7902 University Ave., formerly a KFC, a second at 2227 19th St., and a third at 5204 Slide Road, which was formerly an Arby’s.
