Lubbock mother honors son through swim fundraiser ahead of 10-year anniversary of his death

LUBBOCK, Texas — A Lubbock mother is honoring her son’s life through a swim fundraiser nearly ten years after he died by suicide.

Sybille Neuper is hosting a Swim for Suicide Prevention fundraiser Saturday at Southwest Aqua Sports in memory of her son, Daniel, who died in 2016 at the age of 18.

Daniel was a competitive swimmer and musician. Neuper says he was also someone who deeply cared for others.
