South Plains residents have plenty of opportunities to celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday – both before and after July 4th on Saturday – with a variety of events planned around the region.
Celebrations featuring fireworks and drone shows, live music, contests food and more are on tap across the region starting Thursday Independence Day celebrations in Plainview and Brownfield, followed by the return of Lubbock’s 4th on Broadway festival and Wolfforth’s 4th on the 5th on Sunday.
Friday, July 3, will bring events in Slaton and Lamesa along with the annual fireworks display at Buffalo Springs Lake, with wristbands for that event on sale at the Lake’s administration office…
