Those in Hale Center and Abernathy will get to witness firework displays and participate in other Independence Day-related events only on Saturday, July 4.
W.H. Johnson, Hale Center mayor, said he thinks every Independence Day celebration is exciting for his community.
“I think it’s exciting for us no matter what it is, because we’re just a small community. This is when we have our great gathering,” Johnson said. “Everybody just gets to have fun, and you get to meet some of the people who’ve been gone for a while and always come back for the Fourth of July.”…
