Lubbock man shoots victim after dispute turns physical

LUBBOCK, Texas — Lamontavian Booker, 20, has been arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon after he shot a victim multiple times, according to court documents. On July 5, police officers responded to a shots fired call at 1821 136th Street, where they found the victim inside a residence with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a hospital for serious injuries.

18-year-old arrested for murder in North Lubbock shooting

Police investigation revealed that the victim had sexual relations with a person who used to be in a relationship with Booker, court records said. Minutes before the shooting, this person had a physical altercation with a cousin of Booker at the residence. The cause of this physical altercation was due to the sexual relations between this individual and the victim.

A witness told officers that following the physical altercation, someone indicated that Booker was “about to pull up.” Shortly after, court documents stated Booker was dropped off in front of the residence by an unknown vehicle, where he proceeded to enter the residence and shoot the victim.
