LUBBOCK, Texas — The West Texas State Veterans Cemetery is holding two unaccompanied veteran burials on Thursday, September 10. This is when servicemembers who died have no-known next-of-kin available to attend their funeral.
This is open to the public, and are encouraged to come as they honor these two men who served.
Texas Tech graduate returns home after competing in Sydney Marathon
The first service will be held at 9 a.m. for United States Marine Corps Veteran, Lance Corporal, ‘Clinton Eugene Canfield.’ He was born on July 27, 1954, and served from September 1971 to September 1975. For his service, he received the National Defense Service Medal and the Rifle Marksman.
The second service will be held right after at 10 a.m. for United States Army Veteran, Private (PVT), ‘Dalton Sellinger.’ He was born on May 4, 1948, and served from January 1966 to September 1966. For his service, he received the National Defense Service Medal.
