I felt the first cool breeze of Fall, and I’m all in on cold-weather comfort foods. Having completed a robust DIY soup flight at Souper Salad, my mind is turning to other greats of the season, like warm, delicious tamales. It’s a must for the holidays around here (and any other time you need a soul-healing food). But if you don’t already have a “lady” where do you go?
Local Lubbock Spots to Check for Tamales
Nothing wrong with retail, and then you get the assurance that your tamales were made in a commercial kitchen. Here are some options, but keep in mind most places will need orders in advance (besides Pedro’s) and may only do tamales seasonally or for specific holidays.
Pedro’s Tamales (the O.G. tamale maker here in Lubbock) at 8207 US-87 or 6205 19th St, also available frozen at most United Family grocery stores.
