LUBBOCK, Texas — For three decades, Cynthia Quintanilla has dedicated her career to helping families through Catholic Family Charities, a mission rooted not only in service but in the lessons she learned from her own family, upbringing and Hispanic heritage.Quintanilla has worked with Catholic Family Charities for 30 years, including the past 12 years as executive director. Through her role, she has helped families in the Lubbock community navigate difficult circumstances while connecting them with support and resources.For Quintanilla, understanding the struggles families face is personal.
EverythingLubbock.com spoke with Quintanilla and she shared her Hispanic heritage and how the people in her life shaped her and made an impact on who she is today. Quintanilla shared the story of her maternal grandmother, whose strength and perseverance continue to influence her today. “My maternal grandmother had eight children, and her husband died by suicide, leaving her to raise eight children on her own,” Quintanilla said. “I am motivated and reminded by the struggles and challenges that she had to face and endure.”
