From recording music on an iPhone in a double-wide trailer to performing on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Abilene-originated band Dexter and the Moonrocks has amassed a global following with its genre-bending sound, dubbed “Western space grunge.”
After finding success with several standout singles, including the band’s first record “Couch,” which debuted in August 2021, the alternative country-rock band is now promoting the release of its new debut album, “Friends That I Don’t Like,” on Friday, Oct. 2.
In honor of the band’s milestone and as a thank-you to its loyal fans, the group is hosting a free release show at Cook’s Garage in Lubbock, featuring Cole Barnhill and Kody West as supporting acts. Doors open at 5 p.m. Friday…
