LUBBOCK, Texas — Ramon Flores Jr., 28, pleaded guilty Thursday to three counts of Assault Against a Public Servant and was sentenced to 17 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, with 737 days of jail credit for an incident in which he injured two deputies and led them on a pursuit in East Lubbock in 2024. His sentence was enhanced due to his prior convictions.
According to previous court records obtained by EverythingLubbock in October 2024, an LCSO deputy conducted a traffic stop near 38th Street and Avenue Q on a vehicle driven by Flores for a traffic violation. Due to his lack of identification and the traffic violation, the deputy started arresting Flores, according to court records. An altercation then ensued after Flores refused to comply with authorities, causing him to reach through the window of his vehicle and put the vehicle in drive.

While attempting to subdue Flores, the two involved deputies were injured. One deputy was rolled into a yard and struck a tree while trying to stop Flores in the moving vehicle.
