Man stabbed at Clovis residence recovers in Lubbock area hospital, CPD said

CLOVIS, N.M. — Francisco Rodriguez-Rivera, 44, was arrested on Sunday and charged with Attempted Murder and Tampering with Evidence, according to the Clovis Police Department on Monday.

CPD said it responded to the area of 5th and Shelfon Street on Sunday and found Jahmaal Glover, 28, bleeding from his head.

Officers were later directed to the crime scene at a residence in the 600 block of East 6th Street and found Rodriguez-Rivera inside the home.

Detectives spoke with Glover about the incident who said he got into an argument with Rodriguez-Rivera that turned into a fist fight, according to CPD. Glover said he armed himself with a knife during the fight while Rodriguez-Rivera armed himself with a baseball bat and used it to disarm Jamaal. According to CPD, Rodriguez-Rivera then stabbed or cut Glover several times and said he was going to kill him.

Glover had injuries to his head and arms and suffered a broken leg. CPD said he was transported to a Lubbock hospital where he is in stable condition.
