Lubbock-Cooper HS student nominated for congress of future medical leaders

LUBBOCK, Texas — Hannah Nicholas, a freshman at Lubbock-Cooper High School, was nominated to the congress of future medical leaders, LCHS said.

The honors program is for high school students wanting to become physicians or go into medical research fields. The program aims to honor, inspire, motivate and direct top students in the country interested in medical careers to stay true to their dreams and provide them with resources to reach their goals.

Nicholas’ nomination to the program was signed by Dr. Mario Capecchi, Nobel Prize in Medicine winner and the Science Director of the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists. Nicholas will represent Lubbock-Cooper through her academic achievement, leadership potential and determination to serve humanity in the field of medicine.

Nicholas will join students from across the country at the congress event in June in Boston, Massachusetts. Nicholas will hear from Ivy League and top medical school deans on what to expect in medical school and learn about the future of medicine and medical technology.
