LUBBOCK, Texas — Logan Cade Chaney, 24, was behind bars on a large bond on Friday after he was accused of stealing a vehicle from a Lubbock car dealership back in December.

Online jail records showed Chaney was jailed in Lubbock on Thursday. According to court documents obtained by EverythingLubbock.com, Chaney was accused of stealing a vehicle from a car dealership near Loop 289 and Spur 327.

According to a police report, officers were called to the car dealership the day after Christmas. The report said the owner of the dealership told officers the vehicle was parked on the lot and was locked with the keys inside. The report said the owner did not know how Chaney was able to get inside the vehicle.

Chaney was also charged in Gray County with evading arrest and engaging in organized criminal activity. As of Friday, he remained at the Lubbock County Detention Center on bonds that totaled $1,250,000.
