LUBBOCK, Texas — The Lubbock Police Department has identified the victim in a Saturday morning shooting in East Lubbock that left a man dead. The victim was identified as 54-year-old Ruben Sifuentez Velasquez.

Lubbock Police were called to the 1700 block of East 27th Street at 3:54 a.m. on Saturday, for a report of a dead body.
Upon arrival, officers located Velasquez with a gunshot wound, according to LPD. EMS arrived on scene and Velasquez was pronounced deceased.
LPD said this appeared to be an isolated incident and there is no immediate threat to the public.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing, according to LPD.
