Lubbock man, teen arrested after vehicle pursuit in West Lubbock on Monday, LCSO says

LUBBOCK, Texas — The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday said in a press release, Geraldo Sanchez, 32 and a 16-year-old were arrested after a pursuit occurred on Monday in West Lubbock.

According to the release from LCSO, a deputy saw a vehicle “nearly collide” with another vehicle on 19th Street and Albany Avenue around 6:40 p.m. When the deputy attempted to make a traffic stop the vehicle fled and a pursuit developed.

During the pursuit, LCSO said, “the vehicle struck another vehicle in traffic while fleeing and continued to flee through West Lubbock.”

The vehicle eventually became disabled near 26th Street and Milwaukee Avenue when Sanchez and the 16-year-old passenger began to flee on foot.

The release stated after a brief pursuit both Sanchez and the 16-year-old were taken into custody.

LSCO said a deputy heading northbound on Milwaukee during the pursuit was struck by a motorist causing the deputy’s vehicle to flip. The deputy suffered minor injuries, said the release.
