Victim ran across East Lubbock field to escape kidnapping, report said

LUBBOCK, Texas — A report from the Lubbock Police Department obtained on Tuesday revealed more details about how a victim escaped after being kidnapped by Luis Rodriguez, 36. He was indicted on Tuesday for Kidnapping, Continuous Violence Against the Family and Assault of a Household Member by Impeding Breathing.

EverythingLubbock.com previously reported Rodriguez was accused of kidnapping a woman, choking her and punching her in the face in late December. Court documents were heavily redacted, but a police report provided additional information about the incident.

According to the report, the victim was contacted by Rodriguez to get her “identifying information” from his place. The victim said she took the bus to his residence, and Rodriguez told her to sit on the couch. The report said Rodriguez left the room and once he returned, he started choking and hitting the victim. Rodriguez told the victim to go to the bedroom, the report stated, and “threatened to kill [the victim] multiple times.”
