LUBBOCK, Texas — The Lubbock Independent School District announced on Saturday that it has given the Lubbock Police Department permission to conduct law enforcement training at the former Matthews Academy High School building located at 412 N. Akron Avenue.

Lubbock ISD said the training will begin at 12:30 p.m. on February 5 and will conclude at the end of the day on February 6.

Lubbock ISD said community members may see an increased number of law enforcement vehicles at the building and that there is no cause for concern.
